What is Damhsóir?

Damhsóir is a website and e-zine created especially for adult Irish dancers. Whether you are a step, set or ceili dancer, certified or non-certified, professional or amateur, our mission is to make Damhsóir a resource for you.

Damhsóir is also a part of an active online web community that believes in original content and giving credit where credit is due. Unless otherwise noted, all content on Damhsóir is original, copyrighted and may not be reproduced without permission.

Damhsóir is not a commercial site. While we are linked with the ShopIrishDance CafePress store, proceeds from sales of those items are used to defray the costs of running the site.

Interviews with vendors and manufacturers of Irish dance products are conducted for their value as a service provider, and in some cases, their experience as adult Irish dancers.

About Damhsóir and our Partner Sites

The Webmaster of Damhsóir.com is an adult irish dancer and "&Over" competitor. She started dancing at the young age of 26 over a decade ago in the Washington, D.C., area. Dance experience includes competing in solos and figures at the local, regional and national levels.

Feismom.com is a partner site and is run by Denise Robinson in Canada. Denise is the mother of two dancers and a dancer herself. She is also the webmistress for the Couperus Academy of Irish Dance .

Ges Seger is the author of The Once And Future War. He is currently misusing both his Physics degrees as a computer programmer working at Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Between that, driving his family to all their activities, and his own competitive Irish Dancing career, he has no time for anything in the way of meaningful hobbies. MegaMAID is a newly minted adult Irish dancer and self-described MAID or "Mother Addicted to Irish Dance." She is also the webmistress for the Teelin School of Irish Dance. She is author of the "When the Ghillie is on the Other Foot" articles on this site and the MegaMAID Parenting Parables blog.
